Welcome and Cast of Characters

Welcome to the Delta Green, G-Cell Blog.

This blog is going to mostly contain the notes that I, Harriet Atkinson, take during our sessions playing a GURPS Delta Green game run by Sojourner.

In the first mission (Black Magic in Jacksonville) and the start of the second (Missing Artists in NY) I wrote notes after the sessions so they're a bit sparse. After that, I switched to contemporaneous notes, although I write them in the past tense, and they become a lot fuller.

Missions tend to run to about three game sessions. They will be updated as we go, then marked as completed, rather than separate posts per session.

The Conceit

Delta Green was a black-books organisation that investigated and attempted to contain the weird and unusual. That's everything from Lovecraftian Outer Gods to Grey aliens. People are not wise enough to handle the truth. Officially they have been superseded by MAJESTIC-12 and there is currently a Cold War between the new kids on the block who are stupid enough to think enough firepower can solve everything and the remnants of Delta Green who are a bit more flexible in their approach. We start in 1995.

Cast of Characters

The players are not fixed, week to week, although there seems to be a core of two of us who turn up almost every week. But you're likely to see the following:

  • Harriet Atkinson. That's me. British, ex-Special Forces reconnaissance soldier. Now seconded to Fort Bragg, to train the US Special Forces. Good all-rounder and polyglot, but a spook and a solider first and foremost.
  • Camilla Rosaria. FBI agent. Career focused. Good in a firefight and adds police investigative skills.
  • Tristan. Investigator for a private agency. Very good with people, contacts in secret places. Not so keen on getting out in to the countryside.
  • Hibiki. Japanese corporate fixer. Perhaps more focused than most of the others, but very good at what she does.
  • Dr. Abraham Starveek. USAF doctor in active service. Lead Agent.
  • Daniel. Hispanic. Works for the UN doing humanitarian aid. You name it, he can drive or pilot it. He can psychically borrow skills from other people.
  • Sampson. Head of the CIA's psychic research division. Tech specialist. Spy. Paranoid. Able to psychically interact with the machine.
