Black Magic in Jacksonville
Briefing
Today is January 1st 1995. The time is 1557. After arriving in a hotel in Jacksonville, you were briefed by Ms. Green over lunch at a very noisy cafe. A former CIA agent, named Leland Schneider, who had been reported as dead on arrival on December 31st at 23:16 by paramedics in a motor vehicle accident, but it appears that was erroneous and while being investigated for intoxication at the Duval County Medical Examiner's Office he was found to be alive. He was immediately treated by Doctors on scene and was discharged by his own insistence. He has since between witnessed engaging in erratic behavior at a Walmart, defacing the Andrew Jackson statue with spray paint and a papier-mâché pharaoh outfit, and culminating in evading arrest by using an ankh prop to disarm police officers and handcuffing them to the statue. An all points bulletin has been posted concerning him which labels him as having erratic and irrational behavior which may have been induced by recent injury, being potentially violent, and to be considered armed and dangerous. They have searched his house, but only found his granddaughter present. His whereabouts were unknown. Friendlies in the local police department reported this to Delta Green and that the strange graffiti as being consistent with their prior experience with the unknown. There is are a lot of friendlies in Jacksonville, and some agent presences due to ongoing investigations. This is a sensitive matter, and the directive you were given beyond the standard SOP was:
- Avoid killing Leland Schneider if possible, because it might offend the CIA
You were provided with a manilla envelope containing forged FBI Special Investigations ID and an official looking letter listing Leland Schneider as a person of interest in an ongoing interest concerning Russian interference in US domestic affairs.

The Cradle In The Ocean (Children's Book)-
- Paul Bunyan's parents anchored his cradle in the ocean.
- They anchored his cradle because he was too large for the house.
- Paul's size was the cause. His shackling the effect.
- Paul rocked his cradle. Paul's cradle rocked.
- Rocking was the cause. Rocking was the effect.
- The paradox of self-causality remains until one sees each rocking for itself.
- Because the cradle rocked, the ocean was stirred. Stirred to a tidal wave.
- A wave which wiped away the house. The parents. All that they had seen.
- A wave which was the effect of all that it destroyed.
- The cradle will rock. The cradle will fall.
- The cradle remains unfelled.
- A thing too large to be contained by mortal structure.
- Each jostling of mortal life.
- Unconstrained.
- Unrestrained.
- Unfathomed.
- A seemingly nonsensical, but deeply disturbing, vintage childrens book which primarily recounts bizarre tales of the folk hero Paul Bunyan.
- In another of the stories (recounted in broken prose) Paul wrestles with the Shepherd Death, whose scythe Tagh-Clatur is repeatedly described by the epithet œsly-angledâ. The sly-angled scythe eventually cuts Paul down, leaving behind a livid red mark at the heart of a web of crimson which spreads across Pauls chest.
- The theme of cause-and-effect coupled to oceanic imagery, as established in the book's epigram, is constantly repeated throughout the collection, coupled to another set of imagery revolving around the surface of the ocean being a wall and that, beyond this wall, there lies an imprisoned a lying behemoth (referred to as both the Prisoner and the Liar).
- The Liar features most prominently in the story The Saffron Bee, in which Paul seeks to steal honey from a colony of giant bees whose hive is as big as a mountain in the hope that he can use the honey as a bribe to free the Liar. But the Liar is held by the lie of false history; of causality that cannot be and though Paul gains the honey, he cannot find the jailer.
A thin and badly glued paperback: "Illuminati vs. The Crown: The Army of the Third Eye", published by a small neo-Nazi and millennialist press in St Petersburg, Florida.
The text is a synopsis of American Lee Coleman's founding of the Army of the Third Eye terrorist organization in Britain, its attacks on British interests, and the eventual arrest and destruction of the group in 1993, all tied into a racist screed of Anglo-American Jewry, a secret war between Washington's Illuminati and the "Aryan" Merovingian bloodline, and such. Nonetheless, the facts relating to Coleman and his group are accurate and pay particular attention to contemporary reports of trepanation and "infestation", though in this case explaining it in terms of brain-washing...
A shipping crate containing sixty brand new hardback copies of "Microbiology and Organic Chemistry, 2nd Edition" textbooks from a nonexistent 'Doris & Green Publishing, Ltd.'
The first sentence of the book says that Watson and Crick discovered DNA. Everything past that is subtly wrong. However, it takes a fairly advanced knowledge of the subject matter to detect the inaccuracies, and when the reader has caught multiple examples, they realize the author clearly has a doctoral-level understanding of the subject matter, but is deliberately choosing to subvert and misrepresent certain key facts about DNA, alleles, heredity, evolution, and similar fields.
The book starts off at a level of detail expected of a high school biology textbook, describing the various parts of the cell, mitosis and meiosis, etc., all with about 90% validity. However, as it continues, it becomes less of a textbook and more of an instruction manual, covering artificial creation of specific genotypes and phenotypes, selective breeding for complex traits, and the like, all while subtly expanding and misapplying the inaccuracies introduced at the beginning. By the end, it becomes a manual of applied eugenics consisting of completely false information.
A Husqvarna 385XP gas-powered chainsaw with a 24" blade; 15lbs, low-vibration, quick-start.
A rusted Italian Bodeo revolver with a small crucifix attached to the lanyard ring. The grips have been replaced with crudely hand-carved wood.
A photograph of three ghouls posing with the dead body of a policeman.
A new looking "Hang in there" kitten poster has been nailed to the floor of the green box. A cute Russian blue kitten seems to follow with its eyes every movement the agents do. From time to time, if an Agent sleeps or takes a nap, his/her clothes will have cat hair all over.
All items within the Green Box are neatly organized into plastic totes, and kept to a maintained standard of cleanliness, as specified on a sheet of notebook paper stuck in the wall with a knife. Any thing listed as dirty however, is still dirty, and needs to be cleaned.
You took what you wanted, placing it in your rental cars trunks, and on the suggestion of Tristan, who had a hunch, decided to check out the Schneider residence to see if the police missed something. Upon convincing Rachel Sutton, Leland Schneider's granddaughter, that you were FBI Agents looking into a potential conspiracy you were let inside. After playing upon her emotions you managed to convince her that her Grandfather was at risk and the accident was a likely assassination attempt. Furthermore her grandfather might be poisoned with a mind altering substance by the Russians, and that he may need further medical intervention and help. She bought this line and told you her Grandpa was present and hiding in a disused storage room. That is where we start.
Assumption Catholic Church Special Ministry series Pamphlet - which details a program for those who feel they are close to moving on to the next life and seek extra guidance in deeper mysteries. It contains a lot of phrasing which seems slightly off. Location: On the Refrigerator with a magnet (easy search)
A note from the Chief Medical Examiner of Duval County Medical Examiner's Office Declaring him not dead. Along with this note is an itemised list of the treatments and associated bills for all the injuries in opaque medical jargon. For anyone medically trained, the injuries would suggest that even during the best case scenario the patient would be stuck in a hospital bed for months before regaining mobility. Location: On ground floor dinning room table in dinning room (easy search, easy physician).
There are a lot of expensive donations to Advanced Medical Centers (along with some very expensive bills) Foundation fund, and Assumption Catholic Church in Leland's Schneider's records. Location: In accounts books in Ground Floor Master Bedroom (challenging search, easy accounting) Money comes into his domestic accounts from a Swiss bank account. He has multiple millions in his Swiss bank accounts.
Moleskin notebook with an ankh, upside down wrt the writing inside. The interior is filled with a cipher and some odd symbols.
Father Barker seems genuine. He invited us to the meeting of the special ministry. He seems to have a genuine vocation for caring and promoting their emotional and spiritual wellbeing.
Meeting arranged with Dr. Grace Patel, Snr Research Manager tomorrow 1300. Harriet gave her name as Lady Sylvia Cooper, who was a potential donor to the research at the hospital.
The ME's House
Duval’s County’s ME’s, Dr Freddie Hughes, Office is in Jacksonville. We followed him home. His home has ADT security on the window. There are sensors and a camera on the entrance.
He has a collection of occult paraphernalia and an occult library, some of which of are pretty esoteric. There are spaces on the shelves so it looks like some books are missing. Camilla took photos of the books and paraphernalia.
We lifted the hard drive from his security system and we’re going to try and look at what’s on it tomorrow. We’re going to follow Dr. Patel later in the week.
Dr. Patel had a really good security system, but also a much bigger occult library. We photographed her journal and I scanned some of her writing to try and learn a bit about what she was doing.
Father Barker didn’t seem to have any of the occult library. On his computer we found some emails suggesting that his rather on the outside of it all.
We decided to shoot both Dr. Hughes and Dr. Patel. The hit on Dr. Hughes went terribly - the bullets just disintegrated a short distance from his head and he cast a spell to make them feel drunk. He caused seizures in Tristan, choked Abraham out (after he’d totalled Dr. Hughes’ car) and then called in everyone to help. That included Dr. Patel and Father Barker. Hibiki followed him over and alerted Camilla and I.
They were very nice and sent them back to us… with a note saying play nicely.
